CAKE WORKSHOP WITH YOON KALIM

CAKE WORKSHOP

Over the summer you can bring the whole family to Nikolaj Kunsthal and experience Yoon Kalim’s cake performance, where you can learn to make the traditional Korean dessert DasikDasik is a prominent dessert that has been a Korean tradition ever since the Goryeo-dynasty (918-1392 AD). It was used for royal ceremonies and to honour Buddha. The dessert is a pressed pastry made of roasted flour and different kinds of natural flavour and dye such as green tea and black sesame. With a special woodcut Dasik-press you form the colourful little cakes and thereby different patterns appear on them, each of which symbolizes different things.

You can participate in Kalim’s performance and try out making Dasik yourself every Thursday over the summer at Nikolaj Kunsthal at 4-5pm.
