2. May 2020 to 2. June 2020

FOKUS Video Art Festival is a festival of Danish and international video art, founded by the Copenhagen Nikolaj Kunsthal in 2011 and organised from there ever since.

2020 is the year in which we present  FOKUS Video Art Festival for the 10th time which calls for a celebration in style. On this occasion we have decided to present all the winning titles from all the years, Danish and non-Danish. The films will be shown at Nikolaj Kunsthal, along with three other Danish art institutions: Kunsthal 6100  in Haderslev, Kunsthal Nord in Aalborg and Viborg Kunsthal.

Ever since its first edition, FOKUS Video Art Festival has featured an open call for which newly produced video and film works created by Danish and international artists within art and film production have been submitted. Throughout, these works have been evaluated by a professional jury of curators, artists and representatives of the film industry. Previous jury members from the world of film include festival director Tine Fischer, CPH:DOX, film directors Andreas Johnsen and Annika Berg and programme editor at the Cinematheque Rasmus Brendstrup; visual artists include Simon Starling, Lærke Lauta and Ann Lislegaard.

During the festival we bid you welcome to an opening and opening event with a presentation of the selected works. There will furthermore be a talk by M.A. Andreas Brøgger, who originally was the initiator of FOKUS Video Art Festival.
