Nikolaj Kunsthal welcomes everyone to this year's Culture Night with an exciting program for both children and adults. Experience all four current exhibitions, a large-scale light installation on our historical building, concert on the square, workshop, cafe, beer tasting and guided tours to the top of the tower!

Dynamic concert by Bjørn Svin on Nikolaj Plads
Electronic musician and composer Bjørn Svin performs on Nikolaj Square in a dynamic interplay with Jakob Kvist's large-scale light installation on Nikolaj Kunsthal's facades and tower. Bjørn Svin composed the futuristic soundtrack to our current exhibition HOLE IN SPACE – an exhibition for everyone aged 0-117 by Danish artist Trine Boesen.

On Culture Night 2016 Nikolaj Kunsthal's tall tower will be open for guided tours. See the Culture Night from above and learn about the history of the tower and the building which dates back to the 1200s.  
Please note: Limited number of visitors allowed per tour. Guided tours begin every half hour from 6-10.30pm (get your special ticket upon arrival – first come, first served). 
After climbing the tower you may sample beers from the Grimbergen brewery. 

Our four exhibitions will be open all night for visitors. Enter HOLE IN SPACE – Nikolaj Kunsthal's new blockbuster exhibition for everyone aged 0-117 years.

Don't miss the world premier of the exhibition BLACK FLAG. Through photos documenting an expedition to the North and South Poles renowned Spanish artist Santiago Sierra challenges the fleeting borders and the conquest of land by nation states. More info here.

Experience the exhibition IN THE FUTURE THEY ATE FROM THE FINEST PORCELAIN featuring af new astonishing film by internationally respected artist Larissa Sansour (DK/PS). The film is a science fiction narrative about archaeology and history as weapons in current global battles for territory. More info here.

Finally, we are showing the art project LOST LOVE which invites divorcees to donate their wedding rings and/or their our statements about divorce to the project. The project is by artist Rune Fjord and journalist and playwright Trine Bastrup. More info here.


Special opening hours on Culture Night October 14 2016: 6pm - 12am. 

On Culture Night October 14 2016 entrance is free for everyone with the Culture Night pass. 
A Culture Night pass costs 90 kr and is available at Nikolaj Kunsthal up until October 14 and including the entire evening.
